Flooring: vinyl & laminate
Click vinyl, glue-down vinyl, laminate and design floors. The covering decides how it looks, the substrate decides how long it lasts. We handle both.
Floors are rarely ruined by the covering, almost always by the substrate beneath it. Excess residual moisture in the screed makes glue-down vinyl blister and laminate swell, often only in the second heating season. A 3 mm deviation over 1 m telegraphs through 2 mm vinyl as a visible dip within months. Both are measurable before the first box is opened.

Levelling compound to the flatness required by DIN 18202. With glue-down vinyl this is not an option, it is a precondition.

The covering sits in the room for 48 hours before installation. Vinyl moves with temperature, and it does so after laying, when it is too late.

Installation alone for click vinyl or laminate starts at EUR 22 per sqm net including acoustic underlay and skirtings. Glue-down vinyl runs at EUR 30 to 40 per sqm net. Substrate levelling adds EUR 8 to 18 per sqm net depending on condition.
We bill material at cost plus a stated mark-up, or you supply it yourself.

Vinyl is water resistant, quieter underfoot and works better over underfloor heating because it is thinner and conducts heat faster. Laminate is more scratch resistant at the same price point and often looks more convincing in wood finishes. In kitchens and bathrooms vinyl is the safe choice; in a bedroom it is a matter of taste.
Yes, both click vinyl and most laminates are approved for it. What matters is the thermal resistance of the whole build-up including the underlay: above 0.15 sqm K/W the heating becomes inefficient. We calculate that in advance and choose the underlay accordingly instead of taking the thickest one.
Two people lay around 60 to 80 sqm of click flooring per day including skirtings. Glue-down vinyl is slower, roughly 35 to 50 sqm per day, plus adhesive curing time. On top of that come the 48 hours of acclimatisation beforehand and possibly one or two days for levelling.
Then we do not lay. For cement screed the limit is 2.0 CM per cent, 1.8 with underfloor heating. Above that there are two routes: wait and continue drying, or install an epoxy moisture barrier. We give you the cost of both and you decide. Laying anyway is not an option we offer.
